Streams for mobile devices on Open Images

We've retranscoded our streams and added new transport stream (ts) segments with playlists (m3u8) to support playing on cellular networks (f.e. 3G). One of the coolest movies I watched while doing that is this first airmail trip to Marseille in 1926. At 2:54 they arrive at Marseille and are escorted by their French colleagues to the airport.

The movie can also be viewed at Open Images.

It includes a segmented stream for devices on a cellular network, which means you can play it on your iPhone to kill some time while riding the train to work.

Below a fragment showing the video tag. The last source file is a m3u8 playlist containing 36 segments of 10 seconds.

The first part of the m3u8 file looks like this:

#EXTM3U
#EXT-X-TARGETDURATION:10
#EXTINF:10,

#EXTINF:10,

etc.

When you're on G3 your device should choose this if everything is correctly configured.
